      683.  ------.  [FISCHER, F., AND PICHLER, H.]   (Studien- und Verwertungs-G. m. b. H.).  Process for the Production of Solid, Liquid and Easily Liquefiable Apliphatic Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.  German Patent Appl. St. 61,859, filed May 5, 1942 (Cl. 12 o-1.03). TOM Reel 100.

For the production of the hydrocarbons an Fe catalyst is used, which has been pretreated with CO at 200º-500º, preferably 240º-325º, and at atm. pressure.  The catalyst is prepared by precipitation from an Fe nitrate solution by means of soda.  The precipitate is washed until free from alkali, alkalized by 0.125% K2CO3, dried at 110º, and granulated.  The induction is preformed at atm. pressure and 260º-290º by passing over it 400 l. per hr. of CO until CO2 is formation attains a constant value, followed by conversion with 400 l. per hr. of synthesis gas C): H2=3:2 at 15 atm. and 240º.  The gas contraction amounts to 50% and a yield of 130-150 gm. per N m.3 of synthesis gas is obtained.
