      674.  ------.  [FISCHER, F., AND PICHLER, H.]  (Studien- und Verwertungs-G. m. b. H.).  [Flow of Gases in Catalytic Reactions.]  German Patent 708,500, July 23, 1941; appl. St. 55,966, filed Mar. 14, 1937 (Cl. 112 g-4.01).  TOM Reel 274, frames 1,286-1,293; TOM Reel 49, frames 533-540; Chem. Abs., vol. 37, 1943, p. 2623.

For long contact layers and temperature-sensitive exothermal reactions, the contact of the gas with the granular catalyst is so arranged that the gas flows along gas-permeable walls on the other side of which is the catalyst.  The contact of the gas and the catalysts and the drawing off of the reaction products from the contact mass takes place by flow or diffusion through the pores of these walls.
