      665.  ------.  [FISCHER, F.]  Higher Hydrocarbons From Methane.  British Patent 319,340, Sept. 22, 1928.  Chem. Zentralb., 1930, II, p. 620; Chem. Abs., vol. 24, 1930, p. 2468.

            Hydrocarbons such as C2H4 are obtained from CH4 by passing it through a furnace operating on the regenerative system.  The furnace is hot blasted by combustion gases and cooled again by passage of the CH4.  Catalytically active lining or filling bodies such as silica or silica gel may be used, but the presence of Fe, Ni, or Co should be avoided.  Describes various details.
