            Organic mixture from the Oxo process having a high aldehyde content, olefins, and alcohols is oxidized in the liquid phase with an O2-containing gas and a metallic soap catalyst.  The branched-chain compounds in the mixture are converted into acidic compounds and the straight-chain compounds into predominantly alcohols; these are separated in the usual manner.
