In the catalytic production of alcohols from CO and H2 the yield of higher alcohols per unit of volume and time is increased by increasing the flow of gases to more than 5 times the flow used for the production of MeOH and by using catalysts favoring the formation of higher alcohols, such as basic Zn-NH chromate containing 15% K2CrO4 or Zn chromite or ZnO containing K2SO4. |
