      576.  DU PONT DE NEMOURS, E. I., & Co.  Alcohol Synthesis.  British Patent 323,240. June 22, 1928.  Chem. Abs., vol. 24, 1930. p. 3022.

Alcohols, other than MeOH, are synthesized from CO and H2 in the presence of a MeOH catalyst to which an alkali metal has been added, with a space velocity of the reacting gases that is more than 5 times the space velocity at which a MeOH synthesis employing only the MeOH catalyst would reach equilibrium under the same temperature and pressure conditions.  Describes various details and examples.
