G.).  Catalytic Production of Hydrocarbons and Oxygen Derivatives From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.  United States Patent 2,159,077.  May 23, 1939: appl. Filed Nov. 17, 1936.  Chem. Abs., vol. 33, 1939. p. 6872.

Process for the catalytic conversion of mixtures comprising 1-8 parts of CO and 9-2 parts of H2 in each 10 parts of the sum of these gases at and elevated temperature 200°-420° into substances selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons and their O derivatives in the presence of a catalyst promoting this conversion comprises carrying out this conversion in a liquid medium consisting of the oils obtained by a previous conversion of an amount of the same kind of initial materials under the same or similar conditions and which contains substantial amounts of constituents, the boiling point of which is within the boiling range of benzenes, and applying a pressure under which the said liquid medium is established.  An Fe-containing material may be used as the catalyst.
