            Oxides of C mixed with H2 are passed at 300º-400º and 50-200 atm. over catalysts consisting of ZnO and Cr2O3, the latter being about 42% of the mixture.  They are made by simultaneously precipitating the carbonates of Zn and Cr from aqueous solutions of suitable salts of the same, such as the nitrates.
