            Catalytic interaction of CO and H2 is effected at approximately atmospheric pressure for the production of MeOH, CH2O, HOAc, acetone, and higher alcohols, acids, ketones, and hydrocarbons.  Catalysts may be used such as are specified in abs. 89, 91, 514, 538, 540, and 3289: CH4-forming catalysts are excluded.
