           Organic O compounds, particularly MeOH are obtained by heating mixtures of H2 and CO or CO2 under pressure in the presence of a catalytic mass in which the catalytic metal is present as the sulfide, such as sulfides of Zn, Cu, Pb, or Cd, which may be mixed with Cr2O3.
