Patent Abstracts

In the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of hydrocarbons the exit gases, mainly CO₂ and CH₄ with some H₂ and CO, are reformed to CO and H₂ and used again in synthesis. Part of the exit gas reacts with added CH₄ and H₂O over a Ni catalyst at 1,000° to give CO and H₂ some CH₄. The remainder is passed over coke at 1,000°-1,400°, forming mostly CO. The re-formed gases are blended and used for hydrocarbon synthesis.
