      458.     ------.  [DAMBLY, E., AND BOURSOIS, E.]  [Manufacturer of Hydrocarbons and Their Derivatives From Water Gas.]  French Patent 726,045, May 21, 1932; appl. filed Nov. 9, 1931.  Chem. Abs., vol. 26, 1932, p. 4823.

Hydrocarbons and their derivatives, such as C2H4, EtOH, CH4, CCl4, and CHCl3, are prepared by mixing water gas with H2, coming from the bicarbonation of Na2CO3, K2CO3, or CaCO3 by means of water gas, and passing the mixture over heated catalysts having an oxidizing, dehydrating, and/or halogenating action.  All the residues of the reaction from the water gas that has been used for the bicarbonation are used in the manufacture of byproducts.
