      422.            COMPAGNE GÉNÉRALE DES PRODUITS DE SYNTHÉSE,  [Fuel.]  French Patent 658,643, Aug. 6, 1928.  Chem. Zentralb. 1929, II, p. 3090; Chem. Abs., vol. 23, 1929, p. 5305.

Hydrocarbons corresponding to the general formula C2H2+CH4 coming from the combustion and distillation in a gas producer or the like apparatus are polymerized for the production of a fuel by heating to about 80º in the presence of a catalyst having a basis of CeSO4.  The catalyst is prepared by roasting monazite, treating with acid, neutralizing, taking up several times with acid, and evaporating, after which the residue added to a solution of CoSO4 is electrolyzed.
