      360.            CHEMISCHE WERKE ESSENER STEINKOHLE A. G.  [Process for Obtaining a High-Grade Fuel Gas From the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent Appl. C 56,916.  Nov. 25, 1941 (Cl. IV d-12 6).  TOM Reel 177, frames 1,666-1,669; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II. Fischer-Tropsch. Vol. 1. chap. 46, 1948, p. 110.

Before the synthesis gas centers the reaction space, CH4 is added in such an amount that, after the termination of the reaction and separation of the nongaseous products, a high-grade fuel gas of normal heating value remains as residual gas.  Coke-oven gas may be decomposed by steam and the products mixed with water gas to make a synthesis gas of composition CO:H2=1:2 and 4-4.5% of CH4.
