      348.            CAZES, E., AND CHEFFER, P.  [Catalytic Reactor.]  French Patent 893,155, June 1, 1944.  Chem. Abs., vol. 47, 1953, p. 7840.

Describes reactor that is useful, especially for hydrogenation of C2H2 and production of synthetic hydrocarbons.  After initial heating by electric coils, gases rise in a vertical, perforated tube, and flow out to baskets filled with catalyst.  The basket can be easily disassembled.  A H2O or an oil jacket keeps the exothermic reaction under control.
