      306.     ------.  [CARBO-NORIT-UNION  VERWALTUNGS-G.  M.  B.  H.]  Separating Gaseous Mixtures.  British Patent 481,850, Mar. 18, 1938.  Chem. Abs., vol. 32, 1938. p. 6510.

In the use of solid adsorbents for separating the products of synthesis from H2-CO mixtures, the unsynthesized gas mixture is passed through the regenerated adsorbent to dry and cool the latter.  A further advantage is that the final traces of impurities are thereby removed from the crude gas mixture.  When the original water gas has been enriched in H2 by catalytic treatment of a portion thereof with steam, this converted portion is preferably used for the drying and cooling, its CO2 content being thereby reduced.
