      296.          CAIN, V. L., AND HEMMINGER, C. E.  (Standard Oil Development Co.).  [Catalytic Production of Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.]  French Patent 963,531, July 12, 1950: appl. filed Mar. 22, 1948, in United States May 9, 1947.  Chem. Zentralb., 1950, II. P. 2271.

Operation is carried out with a Fe catalyst, such as us used for NH3 synthesis, under a H2 partial pressure of 10.5-19 atm. with a synthesis gas that contains H2 and CO in proportions of 2:1.  The temperature in the reaction zone is kept high enough to form essential amounts of olefins.  The fluidized catalyst is pretreated before us e with a CO-rich gas at temperature about 55º below the synthesis temperature.
