Fluidized Fe catalyst supported on an active C carrier and promoted with a critically small quantity of alkali metal salt promoter is used in a once-through synthesis operation for the production of liquid olefins, which is conducted at low pressures with a synthesis gas, which may or may not contain appreciable quantities of N2.  Critical factor in preparation of the catalyst is the ratio of the promoter content to the Fe surface.  6 United States patents cited.
