         Hydrocarbon-synthesizing catalyst is formed by spraying molten Fe, Co, or Ni, containing a promotional amount of an activating material, on to spherical particles of Al in a reducing atmosphere.  A thin coating is formed on the Al particles.  Other suitable base materials are clays, silica gels and C.  1 literature ref.
