      189.            BLACK, J. F.  (Standard Oil Development Co.).  Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.  United States Patent 2,435,551, Feb. 3, 1948.  Chem. Abs., vol. 42, 1948, p. 2419.

CO and H2 are reacted at 300°-450° F. in the presence of a fluidized catalyst comprising Ni chromite prepared by combining at elevated temperature and under agitation an aqueous solution of a Ni salt with an ammoniacal solution of NH4 chromate and separating, drying, and calcining the precipitate formed.  The use of the novel catalyst makes unnecessary the otherwise required accurate temperature control of the Fischer-Tropsch process.
