      157.     BECK, C., AMD WEISSBACH, H.  (I. G. Farbenindustrie A. G.).  [Soaps and High molecular Fatty Acids.]  German Patent 695,647, Aug. 1, 1940 (Cl. 23 e-1).  Chem. Abs. Vol. 35, 1941, p. 5734.

High molecular fatty acids, derived from oxidation of paraffins, are saponified in stages.  Only 10-30% of the acid value in saponifying agent is added at first.  The H2O-soluble part is separate and the residue saponified in the usual way.  The soaps can then be decomposed with acids.
