The catalytic mass consists of metals of the 8th group, oxides of metals of the 4th group, and a filler.  To remove this mass from the reaction chamber, the mass is broken up by the action of NaOH and steam, then it is carried out by the mechanical action of steam, compressed air, or hot H2O.
