      113.     ------.  [BADISCHE ANILIN- UND SODA-FABRIK]  [Production of Methane From Water Gas.]  German Patent 396,115.  June 3, 1924; appl. filed Mar. 24, 1923.  Chem. Zentralb., 1924, II, p. 1269.

CH4 is produced from water gas or the like by the catalytic conversion at 700°-800° of the CO by means of steam and by subsequent passing of the resulting gas mixture over catalysts such as Ni.  The difficulty removable S in the initial gas mixture is completely or partly converted into H2S and is then easily removed.
