Describes various details of construction.  The apparatus comprises a heat exchanger, a catalyzing tube, and a preheater, which can be placed in 1, 2, or 3 castings.  Provision is made inside the reactor for heat exchange and for preheatings.  A combination of valves is provided so that the temperature in the catalyst bed may be controlled by proportioning preheated and superheated feed.
