      17.            ALLNER. W. (Braunkohlen and Brikett-Industrie A. G.).  [Water Gas and in Particular Synthesis Gas of Specific Composition From Solid Fuels.]  German Patent 701,501, 1940 (Cl. 26a-5).  Chem. Zentralb., 1941, I, p. 2759: Chem. Abs., vol. 35, 1941, p. 7689.

Coal distillation gases and tar vapors are instaneously removed from the top of the reaction chamber whereby a considerable amount of heat is saved that would otherwise be consumed in cracking the removed gases.  These gases, freed from their products difficult to crack are reheated in a recuperator and then reintroduced into the cracking chamber.  The gases having a high H2 content have the effect of increasing the proportion of H2 in the end gas.
