            The reaction chamber is formed of a number of tubes, which may be filled with catalytic material and are connected together at their ends by headers forming an inlet and outlet for the reaction materials.  The tubes are surrounded by a common casing partly filled with a liquid that under the prevailing pressure conditions boils at the temperature at which the reaction chamber is to be maintained, the lower part of the casing being provided with an inlet for the liquid whereas the upper part contains vapor produced by the boiling liquid and is provided with an outlet for the vapor, 1 or more additional tubes communicating at their upper ends with the vapor space of the casing but not communicating therewith.
