Influence of time of contact on the reduction of Fe2O3 made from calcined siderite, by a mixture of CO and H2, in the same proportions as in water gas, has been studied.  A phase of complete combustion was noted, which is independent of the velocity or time of contact, within the limits used (temperature 950°), and which ends abruptly when a definite percentage (44.8) of the available O2 from the Fe2O3 is consumed.
