        Co-catalyzed reaction of CO and olefins with alcohols and with amines normally yields esters and amides.  In some instances, however, products containing added H₂ are formed.  The H₂ is furnished by the reactants, possibly by way of the formation and decomposition of Co hydrocarbonyl.
