        By methods and extrapolation, using isoelectronic cubic alloys of electron d. 27, θ of hexagonal and M (magnetic moment in Bohr magnetons) of cubic Co, at obsolute zero, were determined.  For hexagonal Co θ=1,070° K. M=1.70 μB.  For cubic Co θ=1,404° K. packed, have 12 nearest neighbors, and have almost M=1.745 μB.  Since both Co. structures are close-identical shortest Co-Co distances (2.513 Å. for β-Co and 2.514 Å. for a-Co, the differences in θ and M must be sought in interaction of not-closest neighboring atoms.
