1802.    KOBAYASHI, K., YAMAMOTO, K., AND ISHIKAWA, H.  Synthesis of Petroleum Hydrocarbons From Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide at Ordinary Pressure.  II.  Mem. Faculty Sci. Eng. Waseda Univ. (Tokyo), No. 7, 1930, pp. 26-27; Chem. Abs., vol. 25, 1931, p. 2840.

Nine catalysts composed of Co, MnO and Cu were used in the synthesis of oil from CO and H2.  Active C formed from the decomposition of the CO is considered the basic material for subsequent hydrogenation and polymerization to oils.  CH4 was formed simultaneously.
