        Experimental data on the critical temperature range, rate of flow through the reaction chamber, and the optimum H2O:vapor ratio are given for the conversion of CH4 in natural and coke-oven gas into H2 or H2-CO mixtures suitable for synthesis purposes.  The difficulty of maintaining the strongly endothermic reaction at 1,200° is met by the use of specially designed regenerative heat exchangers.
