Apparatus designed (abs. 1027) to investigate catalytic reactions of mixtures of CO and H2 was used with Fe as a catalyst.  Mixtures of CO, CO2, H2O, and CH4 were investigated at 600°-700° and up to 6 atm. CH4 remained practically unchanged.  Reactions taking place were:  (1) 2CO→CO2+C and (2) CO+H2O→CO+H2.
