CO and H2 reacted in the presence of Ni, Co, Fe, and Ru catalysts suspended in water or aqueous solutions.  Hydrocarbons, mainly solid, were obtained but only when using Co and Ru.  The disappearance of gas, indicating the yield, varied from 50 to 80%.  The results were not seriously affected by the presence of 3 N solutions of H3PO4, HCOOH, CH3COOH, or (COOH)2.  The experiments were performed at 170°-200°.
