Thyssen-Lenze tower gas purifiers, the first of their kind in England, as installed at the Wandsworth Works, are described.  The installation, capacity 10,000,000 cu. ft./day, consists of 6 towers, together with a stocking tower and stocking frame.  The purifiers have worked equally well from ½ capacity to 33% overload.  To date, the spent oxide has contained 44% pure S.  Costs are about ½ those of the original purifiers.
