An addendum is presented.  The Pintsch-Hillebrand process yields a gas suitable for the Fischer synthesis in 1 stage.  It contains 15% inerts (CO2, CH4, and N2) and 85% of H2 and CO in the ratio, H2:CO=2.  After catalytically converting the CO into CO2 and washing out the latter, the gas contains 97-98% of H2.  Data provided by J. Pintsch A.-G., are given for the cost of erecting and operating a plant yielding 80,000 m.3 of synthesis gas/hr.
